I love my lurkers too

I wish everyone who ever read here knew just how much you mean to me. I love having guest drop by. I’m afraid I haven’t been a very good hostess lately, however. I haven’t been here as much as I would like to be. As I am sure Tom would be delighted to tell you I am a creature who craves attention and conversation from others. I guess the interaction feeds my creative juices and makes me want to write more.

Please remember if you ever go back and read in my archives (or on any blog for that matter) – if you ever find a story or a post that really speaks to you, please leave a comment on it. It will come right to my mailbox and I will comment back to you on that very post.

So to any and all that might happen this way – you are most welcomed! Please leave a comment so I will know you have been by and I will be happy to comment back to you. Today is a special day when we are all trying to let our silent readers know how much they are appreciated but I really love to have comments anytime I post. I hope if you are reading here you will say hello. But whether you do or not you are most welcomed and please come back!

If I told Tom I was having friends over for a tea party, I'm sure the above picture would be what he would expect - and by all means enjoy you tea and cookies that Lily's prepared. But once you're finished, please come looking for Sue and me and the others. We'll be around somewhere.

A wonderful meme from Ella

You know me - I truly don't like to miss a meme. Thank you sweet Ella for this one.

Name a tender song that can almost make you cry.

The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face by Roberta Flack. Tom and I were in bed the first time I ever heard it. I started crying then and nearly every time I’ve heard it since.

What is your favorite shade of lipstick?  What about nail polish?  If
you do not wear lipstick or polish, what do you like or dislike about the shades you see others wear?

I like more pastel shades for nail polish these days, occasionally with a design. Usually my lipstick is a lighter shade these days unless we’re going somewhere fancy.

Name a children's nursery rhyme or song that you loved and to which you remember all the words.

I actively try to remember nothing from my childhood. I plan on learning them all when I’m, hopefully, blessed with grandchildren.

What outfit would you put on in the morning if you wanted to feel happy and well dressed?  Something in which you think you look pretty damn good!

Tom likes me in full skirts (wonder why). I have one that is a flower print with a matching peach color blouse. I love the look in Tom’s eyes when I wear it.

If you had enough money to buy just one, would it be a cottage by the ocean or a cabin in the mountains?

The beach! I want the sand the surf the seafood – I want it all.

If you are old enough, which one of the Beatles did you have a "thing" for?  If you are not that old, tell us a musician that really did it for you.

I loved the Beatles and I would have been happy with any – or all of them for an evening. Paul is still the best looking thing.

Name a smell that you love - could be kitchen, outdoors, person, your choice.

We’ve started sitting around the fire pit many evenings. I love the smell of the fire. I’ve come to associate it with family time.

How often do you defuzz your legs.  Wax, razor, or electric?

As often as they need it. I still use a razor.

How/why did you choose your blog name?

I didn’t. Oh, those many years ago I barely knew how to send an email. I ask a friend I’d met on line to fix it so that it would say ‘Cassie’ when I left a comment. She went ahead and set me up a blog and she chose the name. What changes in my world that all brought about.

What do you like to eat for breakfast?  To drink?  Coffee or tea?

Anything someone else fixes for me! I love bacon and eggs, I love waffles, I love fruit and muffins. I just love breakfast. And I must have my coffee!

How many siblings do you have?  Or are you an only child?  Are you the oldest, a middle, or the youngest child?

My mother gave birth to a son before I was born. There was never a feeling of kinship between us.

What is your favorite salad dressing?

I like about everything but Blue Cheese.

If you could sit next to anyone (alive) on a long plane trip, who would you pick?

If it couldn’t be Tom I think I might pick Ella. She seems to enjoy my stories very much and I feel we’d have a lot to talk about.

Have you ever gone shopping just to cheer yourself up?

Heavens yes! Always have, always will.

If there is one thing that can make you lose your temper, what would it be?

I have no temper, I’m always sweet as an angel. But I suppose I have been miffed a time or two at Tom’s bossy ways. And perhaps I’ve been annoyed a time or two from someone hitting on my husband.

Tell us about the best photograph you have ever had taken.

Allie caught a picture of me the moment I heard Tom car pull in after he'd been gone for two days. It's the happiest looks I've ever seen. Tom loves it too.

Have you ever gone skinny-dipping and where?

You name it and I’ve probably skinny-dipped there!

What do you like on your pizza?  What don't you like on your pizza?

Get me a meat lovers! I’m not fond of green or red peppers.

A Meme from Lilli

Now you all know I can't pass up a good meme. I don't get to post my stories here much anymore, but I can keep up a little this way.

Who’s the oldest?
I’m older than Tom by three and a half years. I’ve been embarrassed about this most of our married life, but it’s true.

Who was interested first?
I’d have to say Tom, because I didn’t see him the first time he saw me. But the next weekend, when I saw him I knew I wanted him!

Same high school?
No

Most sensitive?
Probably me, but Tom is a sensitive soul too.

Worse temper?
Tom is the soul of patients, so I guess I’d have to say me – but I don’t really think I have a temper, I just get annoyed at times.

More social?
We’re both very social, but I probably win out by a bit.

More stubborn?
Tom! Definitely Tom on this one!

Wakes up first?
Always Tom.

Bigger family?
Me, I had one brother. Never really considered him family, but Tom had no siblings.

Flowers?
Yes! I love them and Tom sends them fairly often.

Cooks the most?
Well I can tell you it’s certainly not me! Tom and Lily share cooking duties.

Cries more?
That would be me. I’ve seem Tom cry very few time in our marriage.

Better singer?
Tom, he has a beautiful voice.

Said I love you first?
It was Tom and I didn’t believe him for a minute. I wasn’t sure back then that true love existed. He has since convinced me that it exists indeed.

Better driver?
I am a perfectly fine driver, but I’ll give this one to Tom.

Hogs the remote?
Neither, but Tom usually has it if we watch TV together.

Clothes and shoe hoarder?

Neither. I have the most clothes and shoes, but I’m not a hoarder – I give away outfits and shoes when I grow tired of them.
